Description

Gdc Posterior Band Remover

The GDC Posterior Band Remover Short TC (3000/49TC) is an orthodontic instrument designed for the controlled removal of cemented posterior orthodontic bands during debonding procedures. The short beak configuration provides better access and visibility in the posterior segment of the arch, where longer instruments can obscure the operator’s view or cause patient discomfort.

The tungsten carbide inserts at the tip significantly extend the working life of the instrument compared to standard stainless steel versions, maintaining their bite and grip on band margins through repeated use across many patients. The TC inserts ensure that the remover engages the band edge cleanly without slipping, reducing the risk of gingival trauma or tooth surface damage during debonding.

The 3000/49TC is the short counterpart to the GDC Posterior Band Remover Long (3000/50), and both are frequently used together in debonding setups. The plier handle design provides the controlled leverage needed to snap the cement seal without applying excessive force on the tooth or the archwire.
