Band Selection

• Size Check: Use the laser-etched markings (if present) to identify sizes (#30–#44 inferred)
• Fit Test: Ensure the band seats 1–2mm below the occlusal surface without gingival impingement

Tooth Preparation

• Separators: Place elastic spacers 1–7 days prior to create interproximal space
• Surface Roughening: Lightly score the tooth’s contact areas with a diamond bur to enhance retention (optional, based on cement type)

Band Placement

• Upper (U3):

  • Align the triple buccal tubes facially for archwire/auxiliary engagement

  • Use band pushers to seat the band firmly

• Lower (L2):

  • Position the double tubes facially for anchorage

  • Verify occlusion clearance

Cementation

• Cement Choice: Use glass ionomer cement (e.g., Ketac-Cem) for optimal adhesion to stainless steel
• Application: Fill the band’s interior with cement, seat it on the tooth, and remove excess before setting

Archwire & Auxiliaries

• Main Archwire: Insert into the 0.018″ slot for MBT prescription alignment
• Auxiliaries: Attach appliances (e.g., lip bumpers) to the U3’s auxiliary tubes or L2’s secondary tube

Post-Placement Check

• Occlusion: Ensure no interference during biting
• Gingival Health: Confirm no tissue compression
